I hail from Cleveland, Ohio. Our baseball team, the Indians (or Tribe), have not won a World Series since 1948. Top by using the Cleveland Trophy Superstore... trophy store brisbane Curse-the not enough ANY major sports championship since 1964-and fans of the Tribe produce a strong case if you are the unluckiest baseball fans in the world.
The Tribe's trouble is fondly titled "The Curse of Rocky Colavito." In 1957, Frank Lane was hired as general manager for Cleveland's beloved baseball team. Lane was infamous to create frequent and unpopular trades. Notably, he dumped Roger Maris in Kansas where Maris continued to destroy Babe Ruth's great hit record, anf the husband traded Norm Cash towards the White Sox for two main players, considered one of whom can be traded away before ever playing baseball to the Indians, and also the other of whom would just have five at-bats in Cleveland. Cash would go on to his over 350 home runs for the Tigers.
The curse's namesake, however, comes from the absolute worst decision Lane ever made. Rocky Colavito would have been a phenomenal ball player, in performance and image. He would be a clean, talented hitter that fans could really gets behind. Lane traded him away for the tune of Harvey Kuenn, even though Colavito's career took off after leaving Cleveland, Kuenn only spent annually while using Tribe before swapping out for just two players far past their prime. Ever since the Colavito trade, Cleveland has become plighted with everything from bad trades to lousy performance. The real curse, however, influences freak incidents-in '87, Sports Illustrated favored the Indians to win the pennant and so they finished the time of year with 101 losses; in '95, they entered the World series the top team in baseball but cracked underneath the pressure and lost towards the Braves; in '97 Cleveland was 3 outs from victory, however the Marlins tied it down and cinched the Series in overtime.
