Jaguar Has Re-energised Its Sporty All-electric I-Pace SUV By Boosting Its Re-charging Speed And Its Hi-tech Infotainment System
Jaguar has re-energised its sporty all-electric I-Pace SUV by boosting its re-charging speed and its hi-tech infotainment system.
It will provide up to 33 miles of range per hour to customers and a full charge from empty on the more powerful charger now takes only 8.6 hours, compared to 12.75 hours it took before, says Jaguar engine reconditioning.
However, it's not all good news, because with the changes comes a higher price, with the British brand hiking RRPs by £700.
Charged up: Jaguar has revamped the electric I-Pace with a new 11kW charger, giving customers 33 miles of range for every hour it's plugged into a three-phase electricity supply
Every new '21 model year I-Pace is fitted with a new 11kW charger, but it will only charge at 11kW where a three-phase electricity supply is available.
Where only a single phase power supply is available, it will charge at a maximum of of 7kW (which is the same as the outgoing model).
The new 11kW charger gives around 50 per cent more range than 7kW version in the same time - increasing it from 33 miles in an hours of charging as opposed to 22 miles in the original.
The claimed maximum range of up to 292 miles on the new real world WTLP measure remains the same, however.
In What Car?'s Real Range calculation, this figures drops to just 253 miles in more realistic conditions.
