Historic Inn and Tavern

For over 200 years guests Have appreciated the hospitality offered at the historic Altland House Inn and tavern located in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. Originally built in 1790, the inn was bought by Robert Altland in 1880, also stands in the exact same location today. Including a third story and what is now its present facade completed in 1911 by then owner Ruben Altland, the inn and tavern continued to flourish. Fast forward to 1954; no more made of logs but beautiful with a refurbished splendor for all to enjoy the Altland House was rented at this time with a former waitress, Betty Haugh along with her husband Tom later purchased by the Haugh household in 1972.

The first Berwick Room Has been renamed Lulu's Grill at which diners now can enjoy a plethora of culinary pleasures like turtle soup, also a menu staple for more than 60 years.
