Most Roku users who purchased their device never intended it to be a radio. However, if you add these channels to your lineup, I believe you'll never go back to listening to your old AM/FM radio that's in your house. I haven't! Now if I can just find a way to install the Roku in my car so I don't have to listen to the same old local stations...hmm...

There roku are a couple of numbers to be careful of. If you put the sounds of four and two together, you get shi+ni, which in Japanese means death. Many buildings such as hotels or hospitals won't have a room with the number 42. 24 is another number that you won't find in many buildings as it makes the word ni+shi = nishi meaning double death.

The truth is that while high-speed internet service provides us access to these streaming options, they aren't always the best way to replace cable altogether. On the other hand, someone who's only interested in a few shows or TV channels may find that it's a much more affordable option. The bottom line is that it's up to you to assess your personal needs, the costs of getting set up and the monthly fees you'll end up paying.

The roku streaming player is about the size of two DVD cases stacked on top of one another. It is a tiny box, but do not let the size fool you. This small box can do a lot for entertainment in your home. You'll need a couple of things to get a Roku set-up correctly. In the brand new Roku package you will discover the Roku device, a handheld remote control, two triple A batteries, a power adapter, as well as an RCA cable set. You will also have to have a high-speed web connection and of course your television set.

If you don't have a Netflix account you will want to go ahead and sign-up. I'm pretty sure they have a streaming only plan for $7.99 a month, or if you want to get new release DVDs or Blu-Ray's in the mail, it's $9.99. Hulu Plus is a must if you can't live without your favorite television show; it's only $7.99 a month as well. Personally Netflix has plenty of shows for my taste, the only real difference is Hulu broadcasts shows during their current season, while Netflix doesn't air them until a season is complete.

Not everyone can purchase a new expensive TV just to keep up with the latest technology. That is where Roku streaming players come in. The breaks are not like conventional TV commercials, they occur about every fifteen or twenty minutes and only last for about fifteen to twenty seconds. The first time I watched a movie from Crackle I wasn't expecting advertising and I was a little annoyed. However, the breaks weren't really that bad, once I got used to them, and it really beats paying for movies.

Final note: If after reading this blog post you think to yourself: "Great I'm going to install Ubuntu and stream Netflix" think again. Netflix won't support Linux for unknown reasons. Suspect: DRM. But for everything else this is a fabulous operating system. The Netflix library contains nearly every movie or television show available on DVD. However, the portion of the Netflix library available for streaming is smaller. Most new releases are not available for roku streaming with Netflix. Also, a Netflix subscription does not give you access to current season TV shows.

Be ROMANTIC! This may be a difficult one for some of you but if you just TRY it you might like it. Give flowers, say romantic things, hold hands, and look at them with a smile and a good thought in your heart. One little romantic thing Karen does EVERY night is massaging my feet. Sometimes she wants me to massage certain parts of her body so I gladly help her out. You don't have to be an expert just try it you might roku like it.

We also tend to watch a lot of tv shows in marathon fashion. There are many TV Shows and growing on the Netflix streaming site. Netflix has also done a great job of adding both new and old movies on a daily or weekly basis. We are constantly surprised at the volume of titles available.

How crazy is it to have a streaming media player that is probably the cheapest tool out there and is small, portable and lightweight. Gone are the days of big boom box's and VCR's. Today's electronics are the iPod's or other music media players and DVD players which have replaced the big bulky VCR's. How cool would that be if you could stream all your media all from one place? How about if you didn't have a media player to play Netflix on and wait for the movies in the mail you couldn't watch them instantly?
